While the original building dates back to 1711, in 1825 Emmeramsmühle beer existed and only farmers were allowed to be served at this location. The mill was rebuilt to its current structure in 1866 and since 1929 the location is owned by [[Spaten]] which today includes a beer garden with about 1,200 seats. The larger part of the beer garden is a serviced area but also includes a smaller part where guests are welcome to bring and consume their own food in a traditional Bavarian beer garden spirit.
The beer served from the tap is [[Spaten]] Hell (lager) or Dunkel (dark) as well [[Franziskaner]] weißbier and Franziskaner Dunkel weißbier (the light and dark varietyBavarian wheat beer varieties).
The beer garden is open Monday to Saturday 11am until 1am and on Sundays from 10am until 1am.
