Cirkuswiese is one of the less busy beer gardens in Munich, situated next to the “Wiesn” where the Oktoberfest takes place. The beer garden is owned by the Hacker Pschorr Bräuhaus which operates a beer hall, restaurant and a “Wirtsgarten” situated over the road.

Cirkuswiese is suffering from years of neglect despite the fact that it has been managed by the Hacker-Pschorr Bräuhaus since recently. While the beer garden is closed, the gate remains open which attracts the occasional lone office worker to sit down with a lunch pack or read a newspaper.

Circuswiese is usually open in the summer only when weather conditions are ideal and during the Oktoberfest. However, as of August 2010, the beer garden has so-far not opened for the season. This is surely a waste of unsold beer. Given a bit of renovation and its central location amongst many offices and residential flats, Cirkusweisse could surely become a popular beer garden, especially at lunchtime.
