The beer garden is partly shaded by chestnut trees and sun-umbrellas. A mixture of locals, touristLocals, tourists and school classes often arrive in groups and make this a lively and mixed crowd and lively beer garden. It is unusual to see anyony bring their own anyone bringing home cooked foodmeals, perhaps because most visitors do not come from Bavaria and are not necessarily aware of the custom. The Andech Andechs beer garden is however not at odds with Bavarian tradition and so to bring one's own food is always allowed and not discouraged in anywayany way. The self service food stall offers a selection of typical Bavarian cold and hot mealssuch as [[Hendl]] (roasted chicken) and [[Schweinshaxn]] (roasted pork knuckle), and of course, the famous Andechs' beer brewed at location is and served fresh from the tap. The available beer types are Spezial Hell and Bergbock Hell (lagers) at €6.40 p/[[Maß]] (May 2015). There is also Weißbier Hell or Dunkel (regular or dark Bavarian wheat beer) and Doppelbock Dunkel (the extra strong dark lager variety).
A fish stall offers [[Steckerlfisch ]] (grilled fish-on-stick) prepared to perfection by at a dedicated cook using fresh traut pricey €20! This is however no ordinary Steckerlfish; the brown trout comes from the area and is grilled on a small lake in the nearby alps topped charcoal grill with 19 different herbs and spices from an organic herbal garden at Andechs. At €20 (about twice the price of a Steckerlfisch in any other beer gardens) this A lower priced variety is no ordinary Steckerlfish! Other offerings at the food stall including the beer are moderately priced. The available beer types are Spezial Hell and Bergbock Hell (lagers) at €5.80 p/[[Maß]]Atlantic mackerel, Weissbier Dunkel (Bavarian wheat-beer) depending on weight starting at €3€11.20 p/pint and Doppelbock Dunkel at €6.80 p/Maß (the extra strong dark lager variety)The fish stall is closed on Mondays.
Standard beer garden benches offer about 250 self-serviced seats. There is are no serviced area at this beer gardentables. Instead, a the serviced and more formal Wirtsgarten [[Klostergasthof Andechs|Klostergasthof Andechs Wirtsgarten]] is part of the Andechs property and can be found located across the court yardcourtyard. Additionally, [[Kloster Andechs Bräustüberl]] , a few short steps up the hill, is the self-serviced inn and beer hall with an outdoor terrace with including some great views of the surrounding landscape is located just above . Guests can bring the Steckerlfisch from the Kloster Andechs Biergarten to the beer garden (this is where most tourists go)Kloster Andechs Bräustüberl.

The Depending on the number of visitors, the beer garden is open on weekdays when the weather is good from 10am until 6pm and on weekends until 8pm. The seasonal opening period depends on the weather but usually lasts from easter Easter until end of October or early November.
