Klostergasthof Andechs is located up a hill about 45 minutes by foot from Herrsching on Ammersee. On clear days one can enjoy panoramic views of the foothills of the Alps. Next to the beer garden is the famous Kloster Andechs. Klostergasthof Andechs is the smaller one of two beer gardens located at the Andechs Monastery.

Andechs is a popular weekend destination by people from and around Munich, so the beer garden can get quite busy on weekends. The beer garden does not have the typical beer benches but elegant garden furniture shaded by large chestnut trees. There are regular music festivals at this beer garden and the grave of the composer Carl Orff is located at the monastery.
