The Bier & Oktoberfest Museum in Munich documents the Oktoberfest and Bavarian beer brewing traditions. Written displays detail historical facts and events, with illustrations and photos along with various beer related memorabilia, such as a collection of beer mugs used at the very first few Oktoberfest events.

A small cinema runs a highly informative documentary throughout the day, detailing how the Bavarian beer culture has evolved from the very beginning of ancient brewing experiments and through innumerable small farm and monastery based brewing operations up until the present day worldwide export industry which is dominated by six major Munich breweries.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday between 1pm and 6pm. A restaurant and bar on the ground floor stays open until midnight. The museum, restaurant and bar are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
