The Bier & Oktoberfest Museum is located in a historical building in the centre of Munich. The museum exhibits the history of the Oktoberfest and ancient beer brewing traditions of Bavaria, including an interesting collection of artefacts and prints from old times.

Various sections of the museum are divided between floors. On the top floor, a small cinema documents how the Bavarian beer making tradition has evolved from the beginning of small-scale farm brewing operations to its present day international export industry. On the ground floor there is a restaurant, bar and a small beer cellar.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday between 1pm and 6pm. The restaurant and bar is open until midnight. Museum, restaurant and bar are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
