The beer garden "Königlicher Hirschgarten" is named after the recreational park Hirschgarten. As its name indicates, there is a deer park just next to the beer garden. With 8,000 seats Hirschgarten is Munich's largest beer garden. Hirschgarten follows strict traditions including the requirement that beer mugs are washed by the guests themselves! The beer types sold are two light brews; Augustiner from wooden barrels and Tegernseer Spezial Hell.

During major football matches up to five large screens display the live matches in the entire beer garden.

During the World Championships the events can be viewed from all 8,000 seats.
