The beer garden is partly shaded by chestnut trees and sun-umbrellas and chestnut trees. A mix of locals, tourist, school classes and other visitors often arrive in groups and make this a lively and mixed crowd beer garden. It is unusual to see anyony bring their own home cooked food, perhaps due to that the many tourists who do not come from Bavaria and who are not necessarily aware of the custom. The Andech beer garden is however well in tune not at odds with Bavarian traditions and so to bring one's own food is not discouraged in anyway. The self service food stall offers a selection of typical Bavarian cold and hot meals, and of course, the Andechs' beer brewed at location and is served freshly fresh from the tap.
A fish stall offers Steckerlfisch (grilled fish-on-stick) which is prepared to perfection by a dedicated cook using freshly cought traut from the Beeringsee alpine lake topped with organically grown 19 different herbs and spices from a spice an organic garden within Andechs. At €20 (approximately twice that the price of any a Steckerlfisch in other beer gardens) this can be is no ordinary Steckerlfish. ! To prove the point, there's no shortage of orders! Other menu items at the food stall including beer are normally priced.

The available beer types are Spezial Hell and Bergbock Hell (lagers) at €5.80 p/[[Maß]], Weissbier Dunkel (Bavarian wheat-beer garden) at €3.20 p/pint and Doppelbock Dunkel at €6.80 p/Maß (the extra strong dark lager variety).  A serviced and more formal Wirtsgarten is also part of the Andechs property and which can be found across the roadcourt yard.
