At the time of the lake construction a small lakeside house was built next to the lake at the site location of the current restaurant. The house was rebuilt in 1899, using some of the original structure. After the second Second World War , the Maising area and its lake became a popular a holiday destination and the owner of the house began to sell food and beverages to visiting tourists to earn some extra income. In 1950 a beer garden license was obtainedofficially opened. From 1985 various leaseholders managed the location. Following several leaseholder changes thereafter, In year 2001 the current and 3rd third generation property land owner has resumed the management of the restaurant and beer garden since 2001again.
The beer garden has 450 seats in the self-serviced area standing on the embankment of the lake with views over the sea, . About half of which about half the tables are shaded by large trees. The self-serviced food stall offers traditional Bavarian meals and snacks including vegetarian dishes. All meals are prepared using biologically grown ingredients from surrounding farmlands. Various oven fresh cakes are baked according to original recipes passed on through generations. The beer served is [[Andechser]] and a [[Maß]] Helles (lager) costs €6.20 (April 2013).The [[Weißbier]] comes from the [[Brauerei Jacob| Jacob]] brewery. As of 2011, Maisinger Seehof was the first beer garden in Bavaria to offer alcohol free Weißbier from the barrel, supplied by [[Ankerbräu]]. All other non-alcoholic drinks are from [http://www.perger-saefte.de Kelterei Perger] - a biological fruit juice producer located close to the Ammersee.

The beer garden is open from April to end of October when when the weather is good from 10am until the last guest has left. Closed The beer garden and restaurant is closed on Mondays.
