About 125 years ago Max Emanuel Brauerei established a brewery at the location of this building. While the original brewery is no longer in operation, the adjoining beer garden still exists and now sells Franziskaner and Löwenbräu beer and the old brewery building is a restaurant and bar. The beer garden is well-shaded by chestnut trees standing on gravel ground with 750 seats of which about half comprise the self-service area where guests are welcome to bring and consume their own food according to Bavarian tradition.

A unique feature of this beer garden is one large table where guests can pour beer from an own tap. If arriving in a group who needs an entire barrel or less, only the amount consumed will be charged for according to a measuring device attached to the barrel (minimum 15 litres). Make sure to book this table in advance.

The Löwenbräu helles (lager) is €6.80 p/maß and the Franziskaner weißbier (Bavarian wheat beer) is €3.70 p/glass. As the beer garden is located in a residential area, singing aloud while leaving after late evening sessions should be avoided as that would probably land the owner in trouble with the neighbours.

The beer garden is open daily from April to October between 11am to 11pm.
