Raabe's Wirtshaus is located opposite a small church in the picture-postcard village of Steinebach, approximately 33km southwest of central Munich. The restaurant has existed since 1911 and includes a small beer garden shaded by a thick canopy of chestnut trees.

The current leaseholder, Ralf Hannemann, refurbished the old and deteriorating building and expanded the small beer garden in 1998. The beer garden now has 250 seats on old-style fixed-to-the-ground benches. The Maisacher beer served costs €5,60 p/Maß. The only missing feature from this otherwise typical Bavarian beer garden is the self-service food stall. Instead, guests can either order the beer with the service staff or fetch it from the restaurant and bar inside the building. The location is within walking distance of the beautiful Wörthsee and can be reached from Munich via S-Bahn stopping directly at Steinebach.

The beer garden is open when the weather is good seasonally from 1st May until 1st October, Monday to Saturday from 5pm and on Sunday and public holidays from 11am to midnight or until the last guests have left.
