While the original building dates back to 1711, in 1825 an Emmeramsmühle beer brand existed which only the farmers were allowed to order at this location. The mill was rebuilt to its current structure in 1866 and since 1929 the location has been owned by the [[Spaten]] brewery which today includes a beer garden with about 1,200 seats. The larger part of the beer garden is waitress serviced but there is also a smaller part where guests can bring and consume their own food in a traditional Bavarian beer garden spirit.
