In 1858, a prominent Bavarian land owner and banker, Baron Josef von Hirsch, ordered the construction of an inn across the road from the small historical church of St. Anna. In those days the beer garden was a popular meeting place for pilgrims.

The Harlachinger Einkehr was partly damaged during World War II and finally
refurbished by the [[Löwenbräu]] brewery in 1952. During the seventies and
eighties it became a trendy location amongst celebrities. Following
several changes of ownership the location was refurbished and relaunched
again under new management in 2007.

There is an open air stage with regular live music events and major
football tournaments are shown on a large public viewing screen.

The beer garden has 200 seats in the serviced area and 800 seats
in the self-serviced area.

The kitchen offers a variety of traditional Bavarian dishes at
reasonable prices. The Steckerlfisch (grilled fish on a stick) is
prepared on charcoal grill. A unique feature of the beer garden
is an open grill where guests are welcome to barbecue meat which
they either have brought with them or bought directly from the kitchen.

In the main building there is a classy looking bar as well as a functions
room which can be rented on special occasions.

The [[Maß]] Löwenbräu costs €6.50. During happy hour between 4pm and 6pm
the price is down to €5.
