The history of the building dates back to 1180 when it was owned by the Benediktiner Monastery. Since 1510 the building has the "Zapfenrecht" and is allowed to serve beverages to the public. In 1920 the entire building burnt down due to fire raising. After great renovations in 1933/34 the house was rebuilt according to its prior construction.
The beer garden has 300 seats in the self-serviced area partly shaded by large chestnut trees. The food stall offers Bavarian beer garden meals and snacks. The beer sold is [[Augustiner]] at €5.50 p/[[Maß]].
